Kompas — Apps and games for Zorin and Ubuntu, in one place

Kompas is a software store for Linux, for Zorin 18 and Ubuntu 24.04. It brings apps and games from your Zorin and Ubuntu repositories, Flatpak and Steam together in one window. Search, categories and filters for source and native Linux help you find what you're after, without needing to know where every application lives.

Game sections put the newest titles first, by their original release date: an update doesn't turn an old game into a new release. Open a Steam game in Steam to install it, visit its store page or check ProtonDB. The native Linux filter goes by what Steam itself publishes, not by your graphics card or anti-cheat.

Kompas is free and open source (GPL-3.0), built on COSMIC Store and maintained by ShipDocs. It is not the official Zorin store and does not replace Zorin Software. It is early software that is still being tested; Epic and GOG catalogs and reviews are not in it yet.

  1. First release, then a faster build

    October 2026

    Kompas 0.1.0 is the first version in which installing, updating and removing software actually works. With 0.1.1 the package is an optimised build, so the first start and large searches are noticeably faster.

For anyone on Zorin or Ubuntu who wants to find apps and games in one place, instead of searching source by source.
